Hannah KELLY

Hannah is the Lead Chaplain at Essex Police. Prior to this, she served as Chaplain to a Catholic Secondary School and served 2 years as a volunteer at her diocesan youth retreat centre, whilst studying for her Theology Degree.

She would like to serve as a trustee on the board of PCUK as she has really loved her time so far as police Chaplain (18 months). This has been an enlightening and successful experience for her and she feels much more settled in to the role. She would love the opportunity to share her ideas and experience - as well as her faith - with PCUK and support other Chaplains in their roles.

In her role as Essex Police Chaplain, Hannah has recruited 13 new Chaplains who have been fully vetted and are serving. There are currently 4 more in the application/vetting process. She has run a number of successful multi-faith events and recently co-ordinated and led the first ever Essex Police Memorial Day.

Hannah is also the Chair of the Essex Faith Covenant bringing together various faith groups and public services to support each other and to promote the support that faith groups can offer to society.

Hannah is married to Joe and has two children – boys aged 7 and 5. She enjoys painting/drawing, theatre, baking, music – she’s learning the ukelele – and visiting Scotland, where her parents live. She is also a lover of crime dramas, Doctor Who and Harry Potter, as well as comedy – stand-up, sitcoms, anything!
