National Police Memorial Day [NPMD] took place at Lincoln Cathedral on Sunday 26th September and was attended by around 350 people, numbers were restricted due to COVID measures.
The service was streamed live and a special 20 minute ‘online version’ of NPMD was also produced.
Police Chaplaincy is very much involved in organising and leading this important day in the Policing calendar. Canon David Wilbraham is Coordinator for the day assisted by Rev Viv Baldwin as Administrator, Rev Tanya Lord [Lincs] was also involved in the service and Rev Dom Jones [Hants] gave valuable assistance on the day.
A number of forces lit their significant buildings blue as part of the weekend’s commemorations, and many held their own Service of Remembrance linked to NPMD in the week that followed.
More information can be found on the National Police Memorial Day website where all the clips from the Day can be viewed. You can also sign up to receive the NPMD Newsletter.
NPMD2022 will take place on Sunday 25th September 2022 at The Waterfront Hall, International Conference Centre, Belfast. Invitations are extended to all though you do need to register via the website.
