Mukhtiar Singh Dhanjal
I am qualified Mechanical Engineer of University of Surrey and grandson of First World War Soldier who served the British Army Sikh Regiment in Iraq then went to Kenya with British engineers building Kenya Railways. Hence I am born in Kenya.
I formed First Sikh Society in British university approved by the Vice Chancellor in 1975. Trained engineer by UK Atomic Energy Authority. Served UK defence industry with national security clearance for over 40 years. In 2009 I was first sikh engineer recruited on design of next generation nuclear submarine carrying nuclear weapons. Work internationally on defence projects.
I have been awarded the Highest Sikh Nation Award from India for my respected achievements as fully uniformed Sikh in Uk defence industry.
I joined West Midland Police Multi Faith Chaplaincy a Sikh Chaplain in Feb 2022. Honoured by Sikh Community in UK. I have had training sessions at Lloyd House, Birmingham and Chaplaincy Training at Basingstoke in 2023.
In February 2024 I was specially invited during confirmation of UK National Police Chaplaincy Lead Chaplain at Small Heath. I was honoured at the ceremony to light up all the candles.
I served police during Commonwealth Games as well and provided help to officers for Gaza conflict. I feel I can contribute to UK National Police Chaplaincy as Trustee with wealth of knowledge in business and representative for Sikh Faith.
